Project Overview

Little Caesars Arena is located Midtown Detroit. W.J. O’Neil was contracted to perform the mechanical
& plumbing work within the Central Energy Plant. The Central Energy Plant provides all of the
cooling and heating requirements for the LCA facility. Installation included four 825 ton Centrifugal
Chillers, one 4-Cell Cooling Tower, nine 3,000 MBTUH Heating Boilers, and one each of Heat-Rejection, Chilled Water and Condenser Water skid packages.

We were able to provide the setting of the equipment while simultaneously utilizing our fabrication
shop to begin production of the required piping spools. With the ability to be installed in the field
while fabricating in the shop, we utilized Just In Time (JIT) delivery. This was very beneficial given
there was little to no lay down area for material. The entire project was completed ahead of
schedule, including the commissioning of the entire system.

• One Domestic Water Boiler at 12,000 MBTUH
